With all the machinery in a distillery it still comes as a surprise that we can have some very simple ways of keeping an eye on the liquid levels in the various receivers. This device on the wall, next to our mash tun, allows the mashman to keep an eye on the levels without peering in. Floats on the inside of the tanks are attached to the end of wires that then raise and lower the indicators, giving us a surprisingly accurate indication.
