Working at Bunnahabhain is not for everyone but, for those who have an eye for perfection and plenty of patience, the reward is in the smile of single malt enthusiasts who have discovered this idyllic place and the gentle taste of Islay for which it is synonymous.
You might say that the spirit of Bunnahabhain is kept within these men and women and they are as important as the ingredients and the elements that shape every drop.
Take our 25 year old Single Malt, for example; Lillian, the office manager, had already been working in the distillery for a few years (she wouldn't tell us how many) when the first batch was casked. Our 18 year old had just been put to bed in the warehouse when John MacLellan, our Distillery Manager, started with us. While to date George, our Stillman, has overseen two full caskings of our 12 year old.
You might say they like to stick around to see how it turns out, and we are glad they do.
